Friday was Jackson's 5th Birthday so we had a fun day planned with him. After lunch he was chomping at the bit to open presents and we couldn't say "No!" to the birthday boy so we let him open his gifts. He was so excited!
First he opened some gifts from Aunt Sherry and Uncle Al. He got some fun clothes and pj's and a few Iron Man toys, which he loves! Thank you Aunt Sherry and Uncle Al!
Next he opened his gifts from Grammy K. He got a huge Bakugan and an Iron Man toy. He has been asking for the huge dragon bakugan for months so he was thrilled when he opened the bag and saw it! He waited very patiently while Daddy removed all 12 of the twistie ties that held it securely in the packaging. I think we had to use scissors and a screw driver to remove them all! It was worth it in the end. Jackson LOVES it! Thanks Grammy K!
Jackson must have super sonic hearing because he heard the delivery truck coming down the street, so he ran to the door and waited to see if it was coming to our house! The boy has great instinct because the delivery man pulled up and handed us a big white box straight from San Francisco! Uncle Bob and Aunt Nicole sent Jackson some Pirate Legos and a neat model airplane which Jackson is building with Daddy today. Thanks Uncle Bob and Aunt Nicole!
Jackson also got a fun Hot Wheels ramp, which we are in the process of building and some new jammies from Grandma and Grandpa...Thank you! And Aunt Becca, Uncle Drew, Isabel and Gavin bought him some fun orange crocs, which he will wear proudly! Daddy and I bought him Wall-e and Eve (from the movie Wall-e) toys, which he's wanted since first seeing the movie, but they are taking a bit longer to arrive than anticipated. We hope they get here in the next few days. We also got him some new goggles for the pool, a new kite and we took him to see Shrek 3, which was hilarious! Forty five minutes later, Jackson was finished opening everything and the floor was covered in wrapping paper. It reminded me of Christmas morning!
After a fun dinner at Joe's Crab Shack and seeing a movie, we went home and had birthday cake dessert! I lit 5 curly candles and we sang the birthday song and Jackson squealed with delight at the idea of eating a piece of cake as big as his head. Of course he chose the piece with the most icing! With bellies full of cake and lots of new toys to play with (Thanks to all of you!!), it was a fun day for all. Happy 5th Birthday Jackson!
