Painting has commenced! We chose a warm creamy base called Milky Toast for the walls and will use an accent color called Warm Toast, which is a few shades darker and similar to a light milk chocolate. I also have a light blue paint for accents as well.
So far we have most of the big purchases completed. We have all the furniture except a chair and ottoman. We'll purchase the chair last because we're still deliberating what color to get. Today I shopped for textiles. I found light blue curtains from Pottery Barn Kids to match the light blue paint (actually the paint was picked to match the curtains). I also found the most adorable monogrammed pillow at Serena & Lily and bedding from DwellStudios. Another item I came across for pennies is a cute wooden "S" which I intend to paint and hang with a ribbon.
I've been searching Etsy for bird mobile inspirations and I found just what I was looking for. I considered whether to make my own or just buy the one on the Etsy website, so I opted to purchase it! I had a feeling that I could not do such a lovely job myself. It hasn't arrived yet, so I'll add a better picture soon.
My new favorite homestore (which I've been to many times but not for years) is Kirklands. They have festive seasonal items, nice artwork and novelty odds and ends for a very reasonable price. I was so excited to have stumbled across 2 ceramic birds that I have seen in my mind's eye during this entire nursery design project. They are JUST what I wanted for a shelf in the armoire.
I'll be adding more pictures of the nursery this weekend once Brian is finished painting and we have the furniture assembled. Everything will come together quickly once those two things are done. I can't wait to finish feathering Sam's nest!
