Awesomesauce

Every few months Shawnie and I get together and make a cauldron full of pasta sauce. We'd split the final product and would freeze individual containers, but this time we decided to can the sauce to tuck in our pantry for longer keeping. I've never canned before, but Shawnie's been canning and pickling lately and has become quite a pro at it. Our friend Genevieve has taught canning classes so I'm pretty sure she's passed on some of her expertise to my sister as well. Lucky me that I'm surrounded by so many amazing foodies!

The whole process was really easy and fun, so we've got a list of other things we'd like to try our hand at soon. Last night I made some pasta to have with our fresh sauce. Seems it gets better every time we make it. Shawnie and I have such different palates that our sauce ends up very balanced and tasty. Awesomesauce indeed!
