Hitting the Trails

While in Hilton Head we rented a kid's bike trailer to tote Sam around with us and we all loved it!  We were able to haul our baby, beach gear, cooler and diaper bag so easily!  When we got home Brian and I decided that we really wanted one of our own to ride around the neighborhood and on the local bike paths and thus began my bargain hunting.  First I checked Amazon to price new trailers and they were a little more than we budgeted for.  Considering I don't bike that often, we didn't want to spend too much.  So my hunt took me to Craigslist, where I always find a bargain.  I found quite a few options for very inexpensive.  I came across an InStep Quick N Ez double trailer in perfect condition and it even came with a handle bar and front wheel for converting it into a stroller!  Now we can sell our jogging stroller and use this new one for towing behind the bike and also for jogging.  Score!

Now that Sam will be on the road with us we need to protect that little noggin of his so I got him a helmet!  It was tough finding one that would fit his small head, but Amazon didn't let me down.  I read many reviews of a few and learned that the Giro Me2 infant helmet is the best for tiny tots.  It has small adjustable straps that won't pinch his delicate skin, lots of padding, that can me moved, added or removed to create the perfect fit and lots of ventilation so he won't get sweaty.  I'm really excited to get out on the road with my little side-kick, but my first priority is to protect that tiny head I worked so hard to make.  This helmet will make my job just a little bit easier.
