Top of the 3rd

And so begins my 3rd trimester.  Geesh, I wasn't expecting it to get here so fast, but alas, it has arrived.  The last 27 weeks have been a blur.  My first trimester seemed to drag, mostly because of fear and nervousness that something might go wrong.   My second trimester zoomed by because we were super busy all summer.  Now, as we enter my 3rd trimester, we approach the holidays, so I'm sure the time will go by fast.  I hope it doesn't go too fast though.  I'm really enjoying pregnancy and carrying my little man.  This is the closest he will ever be to me again.  I'd like to keep him in there as long as possible! (sniff sniff, wiping a little tear)

I had a 27 week appointment on Thursday where my belly was measured to make sure Sam is growing on track.  He's still spot-on!  Good job Sammy K.!  I also had to take a glucose test to check for gestational diabetes.  First I drank an ultra sweet orange glucose drink.   I'm not sure what all the "orange drink" fuss is about....I didn't think it was bad at all.  I had a blood draw exactly one hour later.  I won't get results of the test unless there is a problem.  I'm not expecting any issues, but ya never know.

Now that I'm in the 3rd trimester and my belly has grown quite a bit in size I'm finally in that uncomfortable phase of pregnancy.   My lower back is always aching and I get leg cramps almost daily.   I always have some nasal congestion and I can never get comfortable when sleeping because my belly is heavy and in the way. I don't complain about it much because my symptoms could be a lot worse.  I don't have any stretchmarks, no hemorrhoids (Thank you Jesus!), I haven't gained a ton of weight, I'm not a swollen mushy mess, my feet haven't grown a size, my nose didn't get bigger, I don't have weird brown spots on my face (cleverly named "The mask of pregnancy"), I don't have constant cravings (besides wanting tons of attention from my hubby!), my emotions are in check and not bouncing all over the place...and neither are my boobs.   SO, over all I am in GREAT shape!

Tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of the day I married my beloved Jonesey.   How did I get so lucky?!
