Another Shower for Samuel!

This past Saturday, Shawnie put on the most lovely shower for me and Sam!  It was held at The Cambridge Tea House in Grandview, OH.  The tea house is a super charming little place with a superb menu of scones, crepes, desserts, and tasty little finger sandwiches and of course a wonderful assortment of teas.  When she first began planning the event, we went to sample some tea and scones and I immediately fell in love with the place.  It was the PERFECT location for a shower!

Shawnie planned a few traditional games for all of our favorite ladies to play.  She filled baby bottles with mini M&M's and everyone had to guess how many there were in total.   I was shocked to find out how many there actually were!  1,428!  Baby Bingo was ongoing through the shower.  The name SAMMY was written across the top of the bingo card and everyone had to fill out each square with a gift they thought I would receive.  It was entertaining to hear the items some ladies listed!   Each of the winners received an adorable prize...scented candles, oil diffusers and a beautiful pink orchid were among the prizes given.

Our favors, small tins containing tea, were made by Bob and Nicole, my wonderful brother and sister-in-law!   They live in San Francisco so Nicole couldn't make it to the shower.  She still wanted to be a part of the festivities and contribute to the celebration.  The favors were a fabulous addition!

The menu was absolutely de-lish!  Shawnie ordered cupcakes from The Goodie Shoppe in Upper Arlington and the rest was made by the tea house.   We had an assortment of traditional high tea finger sandwiches which I could have eaten a dozen of.  Correction....Sammy could have eaten a dozen more!  The desserts: a lemon curd puff pastry, gingerbread cake square topped with a sweet dollop of icing...yum yum yum!  We chose an almond glazed scone with a side of clotted cream and jam - my favorite!

Sam received a ton of beautiful gifts!  Brian's sister made the super cute diaper cake, which was the centerpiece on the gift table.  A bottle of wine was hidden inside, which I'm looking forward to enjoying in a few months!  Shawnie and Julie gave us the sweetest handmade frames, which have already been hung in the nursery!  We got bottle warmers, humidifiers, bottles, super cute clothes, a baby swing, travel accessories, rattles and toys, baby books and more and more and more!  Brian's dad, Kim, made a wooden cradle for his grandchildren to use, and we're excited that Sam will be using it soon!

We are now well stocked and prepared for Sam's arrival!  We're so grateful to all of the wonderful woman in our lives that came to the shower and gave so generously to us and Sam!  A world of love awaits our little Samuel!
