And so it begins again!

Well, here we are again.  I didn't think I would want to continue this blog because losing our baby was incredibly painful and I just wanted to move on, but I realized that this is a journey that I want to share with you no matter how painful.

As you know we had a miscarriage in early March.   We found out the sad news during a routine ultrasound.  That was actually my second pregnancy.  Brian and I conceived in November, but I had a miscarriage at 5+ weeks.   Brian and I both knew that we would keep trying for another baby no matter how long it took.  We quickly got pregnant again 6 weeks later.  After our 2nd loss my doctor ran a number of fertility tests to make sure there is nothing medically wrong, and thankfully, there is not.   She then gave us the green light to start trying again!  Soooo...

...I'm very happy to share that we are pregnant again!   I'm 7 weeks along and feeling great.   We found out the happy news while we were on vacation in Hilton Head, SC a few weeks ago.  It was the perfect place to let the news soak in (along with the sunshine) and prepare ourselves for the long road ahead of us.  I've been trying to keep the stress low and stay positive that everything will be fine.  I do get worried sometimes, but it passes quickly after a little prayer and some of Brian's homemade ice cream.

I've had minimal symptoms so far, but the morning sickness monster is starting to rear its ugly head this week.  I get queasy now and then, but it's not too bad just yet.  I am also moody and cranky, more than I want to admit.  My sweet husband is so patient.  I love you Brian!

At 7 weeks our little bean has a functioning liver, brain, 4 chamber heart, upper and lower jaw, arm & leg buds and lung buds.  It amazes me how quickly s/he is growing!  S/he is about the size of a blueberry.   Next week the rest of the organs, eyes, ears and intestines will take shape!

We had our first ultrasound on May 28th.  According to Dr. Missy, everything is right on track!  The baby's growth is exactly what it should be at this point in time.  We also saw a heartbeat fluttering away!  It was a wonderful sight to see!

We had another ultrasound on June 3rd and things look great!  The baby is still right on track!  Mommy and Daddy are breathing a sigh of relief!

We couldn't be more thrilled about this baby!  We pray that s/he is healthy and my pregnancy will be problem free.  So far so good!  Every day that goes by is one day closer to meeting him/her! Only 237 days to go! But who's counting?!
